Abstract

TThis article examines the relationship between organizational culture (OC) and resistance
to technological change (RC) in a multisectoral context in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia,
also incorporating variables of institutional leadership (IL), adaptive capacity (AC), digital
climate (DC), and organizational performance (OP). Using a nonexperimental, cross
sectional quantitative design with correlational-explanatory scope, a validated questionnaire
was administered to a sample of 130 employees from organizations in the educational,
service, commercial, and industrial sectors of the city. Data were processed through
descriptive statistical analysis, Pearson correlations, heat maps, and multiple regression
models. Results show that organizational culture presents a significant negative correlation with resistance to technological change (r = -.61, p < .001), and that the set of predictors
explains between 47% and 63% of variance in the dependent variables. Implications for
change management and the design of contextually relevant digital transformation strategies
are discussed.
